Greetings from Hopkinsville!
I have been on the road so much in the last seven weeks that I honestly don’t know where to begin. There are so many things I would like to share with you. Since I have a bad case of jet lag right now, and I’m unable to sleep, I’ve spent the time praying that the Lord would bring forth just those things that He needs me to share. I’ve also asked that He help me to do so in the amount of space available to me, so here goes.
I’ve spent two weekends in Washington, DC, and apparently I will be spending many more there. Each time the Lord re-commissions me to our nation’s capital to speak with specific elected leadership, I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming.
This year I arrived the day before our National Day of Prayer, to meet with a number of our government leaders to share my heart, as well as what God’s Holy Word has to say, concerning the “Road Map” which has already been presented to Israel, as well as the PLO. I must tell you that it warmed my heart to hear the heart of many of our representatives as they, too, share the same concerns, and realize that we as a nation have entered in to conflict with Almighty God, by forcing Israel to break her covenant with God. We are also entering in to conflict with Him by threatening Israel with many sanctions if she does not bow her knee to the demands of our present administration.
Tom DeLay is an evangelical Christian from Sugar Land, Texas, as well as the House Republican leader, and he blesses my heart to no end. He stands firmly on the Word of God, and walks his talk! He said, “I might not know the difference between a motza ball and a baseball, but I do know this: We as a nation must stand with Israel. Israel is not the problem, but Israel is the solution!” He went on to speak of a destiny shared by America and Israel. He told me he is praying for “Divine Intervention” to protect both nations, America and Israel. This man is one of many I have found in our nation’s capital who has the heart of our Father concerning Israel, and our nation’s God given responsibility to overshadow her until she has grown strong and matured to become the light to the nations God has called her to be.
My heart was also warmed on the National Day of Prayer to see so many true believers and intercessors all around our nation’s capital, standing in groups with arms raised to the Lord, in corporate worship and intercession. They were everywhere from early morning until late at night.
On the third day, the Israeli Embassy hosted all of us who are ministry leaders who stand with Israel and work to see God’s Kingdom advanced, as we all come together to work for a safe, and secure Israel. There were more than one thousand of us present. The embassy erected a huge tent that ran from the doors of the embassy all the way to the street to be able to enclose us all. It was beautiful!
As each of us shared our heart concerning Israel, and what we are doing to assist her, the Israelis listened intently. A number of musical groups came intermittently to lead us in worship. Again, the Israelis were being blessed. It seemed each message shared became stronger and stronger. There was such an awesome anointing and peace over all of us. Then the last group to lead us in worship came to the platform, and I just knew something was about to happen. They were a well mixed group, and the very moment the lead singer opened her mouth, a powerful anointing dropped, and the Spirit of God brought all of us to our feet clapping hands and praising God. As that happened, the pastor next to me said, “Myrna, we’re having revival in the Israeli Embassy!” It was such a blessing!!!
Well, bless their hearts, we were all finished sharing, and the Israeli ambassador stood to his feet and choked back tears as he said, “We are strengthened, we are encouraged, you’ve all given us hope, and all of us are speechless. You’ve said it all. There is nothing else to be said!” Brothers and sisters, the Israelis were all overwhelmed! God touched every one of them in such a special way! It was such a blessing to be a part of such an awesome time of coming together, true believers in Yeshua, our Messiah, and God’s covenant people, the Jews. As the anointing became stronger and stronger I could feel the heart of our Father rejoicing. There was not a dry eye among any of us.
The following weekend I was on the East Coast of South Florida to share all that the Lord had spoken to me throughout the forty day fast at the end of the year, and also the time of fasting in Israel at the beginning of the year, with several different congregations. I also had an opportunity to meet with a number of pastors, brothers and sisters, on an individual basis. It was a great time in the Lord as He moved in a mighty way to bring healing, deliverance and refreshing to everyone in those congregations.
The following weekend I was sent back to Washington, DC where a couple of thousand of us met to hear from one another what was on each heart concerning the “Road Map” and the sanctions threatening Israel. We shared what the Lord had been speaking to each one of us. It was a very intense weekend, but one that blessed my heart. At the end of the conference, we drew up a letter to be hand delivered to President Bush speaking of all of our concerns, as well as what the Word of God says, concerning our responsibility as a nation to Eretz Israel. The letter was hand delivered to President Bush, and he read it. He openly acknowledged that he had read it, then said, “I am pushing forward, I am not getting off this road!” May I say, we all need to be crying out for mercy for both nations, America and Israel, for Prime Minister Sharon has caved in to the demands of President Bush. Church, there are times when we must obey God, and not man! This is one such case, and it is going to bring even more severe judgment upon both America and Israel. God is dealing right now with every nation for the way they have treated His covenant people and divided up His Land.
Within the past seven week period, I have been sent to South Florida three times. I was able to be there to participate in Jesus Compassion Ministries’ annual Mission Banquet. My heart was so blessed to see what the Lord has done in that congregation. The growth and maturity was awesome to see in both young and old. They are truly seeking the face of the Lord, the Presence of the Lord, with all that is within them. They are all flowing so beautifully in their giftings to the glory of God. As I watched the young children worship the Lord in mime and dance, it brought tears to my eyes.
In the congregation that Brother Errol shepherds I witnessed the same thing. He allows each individual to step in to their proper place and flow with the Spirit of God. There are a lot of young adults in that congregation and they are growing and maturing to the glory of God. Brother Errol has a real father’s heart for these younger ones.
Then, there is the School of the Prophets in Hollywood. It was beautiful to see the freedom the Holy Spirit has to move among all of them, and develop each one of them. Again, He moved mightily to refresh each one there. Brothers and sisters, there might be a holy hush over the Church at large, but I’m here to tell you that He is speaking to His Remnant as they have need to hear from Him, and He is ministering to them, and through them, mightily. It has been such a joy to minister to these congregations who are running hard after Him. Their leadership is completely sold out, lifting high the Name of Yeshua, and moving in obedience to His Holy Word. They are true worshippers, raising up true worshippers to the glory of God!!!
It was also my privilege on one of these ministry trips to South Florida to be able to share a little bit about why we are told to “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem”, then lead a city wide group of intercessors, in Hollywood, in prayer for Israel. “If My People” is a city wide gathering of intercessors led by Sharon Stitely and Melva Parrish. It was so powerful! The gathering was hosted by a Native American Congregation, and they were most gracious. As we were all in prayer, an awesome mist rolled in from the back of the sanctuary, and as I began to pray for Israel the anointing became so heavy and so thick that I was teetering back and forth. It was difficult to stand up under it. God is so good!!! Let me just say that every one of these congregations is under the leadership of plain ordinary people, taught by the blessed Holy Spirit. And, the Scriptures tell us that where the Spirit of the Lord is in charge, there is great liberty! There is freedom in worship and intercession, and as a result, people are healed and set free to the glory of God!!!
As I was called to go back to South Florida the third time, I asked the Lord why He had not arranged it so that I could do everything in one trip instead of going back and forth. At that time, He shared with me that He was re-commissioning me to South Florida. The ministry base is to be moved back to Vero Beach for a season. How long a season I do not know, but I am being sent back with a mandate, and He said there will be great challenges that come with this mandate. So, here we go again!!! The next newsletter will come from Vero Beach, Florida. Please pray for me and all those who will be helping me to make the transition as smooth as possible. I’ll share more about this re-commissioning next month, but right now I need to share with you a little bit about our trip to Israel.
Shelly, Betty and I returned yesterday from an exceptional trip to Israel. We came back tired, and with jet lag, but oh so blessed at all God did. Both Betty and Shelly were real troopers! It was a delight to tour the Holy Land with them. We were there for the Shavuot Conference as well as the Meet The People Tour. This was a tour that took us right down in to the heartland of Israel. We went down to meet the people in Samaria, Judea, Hebron, and then went up to Tiberias and the Golan Heights. While in Tiberias, both Shelly and Betty were baptized in the Jordan River.
You know, just a day or two before we left for Israel, I received an email from Mona telling me that the two girls who were going with me were being given ‘diplomas’ (spiritual degrees and walking papers – graduation). She said that they would begin to walk in their new mantles. She said that the Lord had shown her that the anointing of the Lord would flow through them on this trip in a way that had never been released in them before. The Lord told Mona that this was a “Divine Appointment” for both of them. He told her that they would experience His love of His people and His Land in a way they had never discerned before. He went on to tell her that they would come home in a different state than when they went, and they would never be the same again. Mona, bless your heart, your words were so true, and I was there to see it and encourage them. Hallelujah!
Our first morning in Israel, we were all up bright and early, ready to go! Christine came and took us in her van to see some of the things that would not be seen on the Tour we were taking in to the disputed areas. I have seen the Spirit of God move through Christine before as she was sharing, and this time was no exception. The girls were left completely undone. She gave them an overall view, for we were three days ahead of all the others arriving. Continental Airlines had changed their schedules, giving us two extra days before everyone else would arrive, and three days before the Shavuot Conference would begin.
For those of you who have heard me share all that the Lord gave me during the forty day fast and the time of prayer and fasting in Israel at the beginning of the year, let me tell you that much of what I have shared with you was re-confirmed by all three speakers, as they all three spoke from the Book of Joel. I’ll tell you one thing! They woke up those who were there for the conference. I mean they were awakened! PTL!
How I pray that one day the whole Church will awaken!!! Lord, give the Church eyes to see, and ears to hear Your heart! Give them understanding, Lord, before it is too late!
Our first excursion was down in to Samaria. We traveled down in to the heartland in an armored bus, and Sandra Baras met us to guide us through Samaria. We visited several of the mountain top communities that the media refers to as “settlements”. Both Shelly and Betty were amazed at the beauty of these communities after all that have seen on T.V. Not to mention the breathtaking view from each of the mountain tops.
They were also blessed by the strong faith of the residents the media refers to as “settlers”. The residents were so blessed to show us the playgrounds that Christian money has supplied for their children. In one community they pointed out the library that had come together because of caring believers. They are all so grateful, not just for our help, but mostly for our friendship. They so appreciate the fact that we stand with Israel unconditionally. They know that we are standing on His Holy Word just as they are.
In one of the smaller communities, all of the children came in and sang four songs for us. The first song spoke of how good and pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in unity. Then they sang three other songs about Eretz Israel being the Land of milk and honey. After that they presented each one of us with a small Israeli flag. They were so precious! As Shelly said, “We were only there a short time, and they shared their most precious possessions with us. They shared their children.”
How God has used our love and gifts to draw us all together in unity, true believers and His covenant people, the Jews. As they shared with us in each community, the Lord also quickened to me something they were all saying. In the past there has always been a great divide between the secular Jews and the observant Jews. However, in the mountain top communities, where the Lord has called them to plant, build, and wait on Him, they are coming together, living side by side, and respecting each other. It just blessed my heart when He called my attention to what He is doing among them. Awesome God!!!
The following day we took another excursion in an armored bus, this time throughout Judea. We visited a couple more of the communities and really enjoyed the mountain top view from Ephrat. It was so beautiful!
We went to Gush Etzion, and after seeing the light show there, we had lunch in the Judaica Shop. It was delicious, and the residents served all of us. They were so gracious!
After lunch and a brief time of shopping, our bus went on, behind an IDF escort, in to Hebron. Here we really had an awesome time in the Lord, going first to the Macphela Cave. As soon as we walked in to the study room, the Muslims began that demonic sounding call, louder and louder. They do that every time the Jews have guests, or even begin to pray. All of us began to pray quietly in the spirit, and all at once the Lord said to me, “Worship Me!” As He said that, He brought back to my mind the time the very same thing happened to us at the South end of the Western Wall. That day we all began to worship and praise God, and they were drowned out. So I began to sing Hallelujah and the rest came right in. After that we sang “We Exalt Thee”. And sure enough, that horrible sound was silenced. Like He said the last time, “When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him.” Amen!
From there we went down in to the little ancient synagogue. We had a Jewish man named Simcha guiding us through the city. He shared all about the history of the synagogue, then he had us gather around as he opened the gate and showed us the ancient Torah scrolls. As he went to close it up, he asked us if we knew the Shema and we said yes, and began to sing it unto the Lord. The Lord put such an anointing upon us as we sang it that he became visibly shaken. He had to turn his head to fight back his emotions. We sang a number of songs after that, and he was truly blessed by our worship. From there we went up on the hill to the tomb of Jessee and Ruth. There he shared some history with us, but was interrupted by a phone call, so he made mention that we should worship some more, which we did. And, once again, it truly was anointed. When we turned around, he was off the phone, just listening to us as we worshipped. From there we went back to the little Judaica Shop / Restaurant for a cold drink. Our time with Simcha was very special. It seemed as though he wanted us to worship from every place we visited, and we did. Only God!
I could go on and on sharing, for there was just so much, but I really believe that I’ve shared enough for you to see the hand of God at work between the true believers and His covenant people in His Land. Also what He is doing among His own. God is restoring the Land, and His people to the Land, and only Heaven can help those who stand in the way of what He is doing in this hour. We must cry out for mercy for our nation, as well as all the other nations, who are manipulating, and pressuring His people, and their leadership, to give away their birthright. It is not a “Road Map to Peace” but a “Road Map to Disaster!”
……
The past three years I have had so many people say they want to go to Israel, but they don’t really have the means to go. And when they share with me, I can see that they are being drawn to Israel. They have a Jewish heart, if you will. He is calling them as watchmen on the Walls for His Nation, Israel.
Neither Betty nor Shelly really had the means to go, but they knew they were called to go, so both of them sought God to find out how they should prepare for their trip by faith. The Lord instructed them both in different ways, and they obeyed His instructions, and they have both been to the Promised Land, and they were greatly blessed there. So I’ve asked each one of them to share how He led them to get them to Israel.
Shelly – “My journey to Israel began about 2 years ago. Some extra money came in to my hands and the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me immediately, “Use the money for Israel!” “Get a passport!” I just knew that I was going to get to Israel that summer! So … I got my passport. I also got Myrna’s newsletter asking us to help the little community of Talmon. When I read this, the Spirit of the Lord spoke again, “Use that money for Israel!” Then I understood I was to sow that money into Israel.”
“Over the next two years extra money would come in to my hands. Some of it I would sow, and some I was permitted to put into savings. When Myrna called and spoke to me about going to Israel for the Shavuot Conference, I had enough to go. PTL! I believe that it was because I sowed where He asked me to sow, and saved when He instructed me to save. So don’t become discouraged, just begin to ask the Lord to prepare your heart and show you how to be a good steward. Before you know it you will be walking in to Ben Gurion Airport!”
Betty – “I dreamed of going to Israel all my life but I never thought it was financially possible. In November of 2002, I was told of a conference that was going to be in Jerusalem in May of 2003. I began to ask the Lord if I could go. When He said I could go, I began to ask Him about the finances. He told me to begin to save $50.00 per week. As I became obedient there, He told me to save my Christmas bonus, and my refund check from the IRS. As I became obedient there, He told me to have a yard sale. I had too much stuff! As I did all of these things, I had the money for my flight to Israel. I continued to save and soon I had enough for my hotel room and food. He then had me sow in to Israel for the aliyah and as I was obedient in this, He brought in enough money for me to bless Israel’s economy and bring gifts back to all of my family and friends. He is truly an amazing God!”
“Let me say that if He can show me how to get to Israel, He can surely show you. May I encourage you to go to Israel. It is worth whatever it takes to get there. I know that in God’s time I will return again!”
……
On our way home, I asked both Shelly and Betty what touched them the most while they were in the Land:
Shelly – “On June 4th we got on an armored bus and headed for Judea. One of the things that ministered to me the most was going to Hebron. As we passed by army patrols, and through road blocks, the area became darker and looked more abandoned. Buildings were closed up and covered with graffiti. Trash littered the sidewalks. Skinny cats dashed through the alleys. But … Simcha, our guide, stepped on to the bus and whisked us into an oasis of life. In the midst of the destruction was a place where a small community of Jews have responded to death with life. Every time one of their own is murdered or maimed by terrorists, their response is to build or reclaim abandoned buildings. They build homes, shops, and a place to study the Scriptures. This is how a typical community, that the world calls ‘illegal settlements’ responds. Truly they have decreed, “I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord!”
Simcha took us to their synagogue and gave us a history lesson. Then he invited us to sing. I was not familiar with the songs we sang, but the Holy Spirit fell in that place! It shook my religious traditions! Many wept, and Simcha was overcome by the Presence of the Lord. I will never forget that experience. Over and over again, the Lord pressed in to my heart that, “He who keeps Israel, never slumbers or sleeps” and Israel will come to know Yeshua as Messiah because “It’s not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit!” Please … do not let the media instill fear in to your heart, but seek the Lord and go to Israel. You will be forever changed!”
Betty – “Before I left for Israel, the Lord told me that the Galilee would be a very special place for me, and it was. I was touched greatly by the Lord on the Mt. of Beatitudes and went in to deep intercession. Then when we went up to the Golan Heights to visit the army (IDF) camp, there I was touched the most. As the men shared with us, I was overwhelmed with the hardships these men and young adults, both male and female, have to endure to serve their country. And they so willingly serve! They look forward to serving their country!”
Later on, Christine shared even more about the hardships these young people know. She has had two of her children serve in the IDF and told us first hand what they go through. You can be sure that I will intercede for all of them, and for their families, who also know nothing but hardship while their children are serving their country. Please remember the Israeli Defense Forces, and their families, in your prayers. They are standing in the gap for God’s covenant Land and people.”
